Heartbreak Is Stressful

On the behest of my clients few shows I watched to understand what they are referring to were

  • Heartbreak Agency on Netflix

This binge watching had a research bent ( everything I read or watch is with a research intent) the human experience of watching took over , I laughed, cried and the Eureka moment was; it is only love for anyone or anything that brings the human to experience a mind body soul connection. 

Sufism, modern spiritualism and alternative lifestyle practices at the core carry love! Alas ! 

Love , loves the being but makes the being difficult too.

A few years ago a group of doctors at Johns Hopkins University reported a rare but lethal heart condition caused by acute emotional distress. The problem is technically known as “stress cardiomyopathy,” but the press likes to call it “broken heart syndrome,” and medical professionals don’t object to the nickname.

Behavioral science is caught up with the anecdotes, too. In the past few years, psychology researchers have found a good deal of literal truth embedded in the metaphorical phrases comparing love to pain. Neuroimaging studies have shown that brain regions involved in processing physical pain overlap considerably with those tied to social anguish. The connection is so strong that traditional bodily painkillers , nerve blockers and other pain management drugs seem capable of relieving our emotional wounds. 

In consultation with physicians , psychologist and other behavioral scientist it has been put forth 

A heartbreak can be a state of psychological emergency and also a trigger to other psychological symptoms that can lead to disorders. 

If you are yourself going through a heartbreak or know someone going through one, learning how to be there for yourself and others is crucial.

The First Aid Of Heartbreak begins with understanding its stages ,  similar to grief and loss stages. In the current times have been even applied to understanding situationships because one sided love or almost love also hurts the same.

  • Denial
  • Anger
  • Bargaining
  • Depression 
  • Acceptance

And it is a cycle that the individual keeps moving in vis a vis their perception of the relationship, time period after the break up and positive life events after the relationship that boost the self esteem.

Researchers over the years have identified the brain forms neurobiological pathways of experience. Our learnings and memories along with the emotion it reflects in the individual at that point that our experience expression is a projection of that state has given us proof in arts , literature, cinema and culture. Much like my clients who urged me to watch these shows.

Combining various therapeutic modalities and their own journeys as well as having reflected personal experience in this “First Aid Of Heartbreak” a 5 step model of redirecting the neurobiological path of the relation between emotion and experience.

Love continues to combine the mind, body and soul experience of being human to experience and express the projections of its intensity further generating new experience for another set of individuals. Love continues……
